Women are constantly faced with images of other women which are altered to make even some of the rarest, thinnest, most symmetrical bodies in the world look drastically different... even thinner, with bigger breasts, smaller hips, a nip and tuck. What we see is often not even human, not even possible. When this is done to models, how can non-models feel good in a picture? I'm here to tell you, you can... and you will!

Yes, I do use Photoshop, mostly to adjust the lighting and color, or to get rid of a blemish or smooth wrinkles. I aim to do most of my magic through posing, angles and lighting. I want you to leave your session feeling beautiful and sexy. I want you to see your pictures and say, "Wow! I am gorgeous!" because you are. We all are. Every one of us is beautiful in our own, unique way, and I want to show you yours.

About Nicole

Metro Detroit area portrait photographer, Nicole Mehelich is known for creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere for her clients. Most of her women's portraiture is photographed in her home studio, but she can also go on-location.

Nicole has had a passion for photography since the age of 13. Her father, a photographer himself, gave her a vintage Ciro-flex camera and taught her how to process film and make prints in his home darkroom. By high school, she had a reputation for having a camera with her at all times. Nowadays, she loves to help women feel their absolute best, and to see themselves the way that they are seen by those who love them.

Do you offer hair and makeup?

I work with several hair and makeup artists in the area to bring you an experience you won't forget. The cost is $90-150 for full airbrush makeup and hairstyling, depending on what you are looking for. Contact me to get more details!

Can my friend come too?

Absolutely! It's also really fun to do it together with a friend or lots of friends. A Glam or Boudoir party is a great way to kick-off a bachelorette party. You hang out together while getting your hair and makeup done, take some pictures separately and together, and then you’re all ready for a night out on the town!

What to wear (or not wear)

Your session is about bringing out your confidence and making you look your best. I call this Modern Glamour because my style is a modern take on glamour photography. If you want glamorous portraits that are not at all sexual in nature, I would love to take those for you. Maybe you just want a nice, natural portrait for a dating website, you got it! If you want to make a little album to give your hubby-to-be with very sensual pictures, we can do that too. I love helping women recognize the beauty within them and give them lasting portraits that they will love for years to come. When you book your session, we'll chat about what wardrobe options you might want to bring and come up with a plan for your shoot. Even if you are planning on taking sexy pictures, I still recommend taking a few in regular clothes. When you see these gorgeous pictures of yourself, you'll want to be able to give one to your mom or other loved ones. You’ll want to change your profile picture. Trust me.

How much does it cost?

To reserve a one-hour photo session, there is a non-refundable $250 retainer, due within five days of booking your session to hold the date. This can be applied to your order*. We offer 8×10″ gift prints starting at $15 and portrait collections beginning at $380. The average Nicole Mehelich Photography client invests $500-$2,500 on their photography. Most sessions produce 30-40 finished images from which to choose. The 30-image digital collection is $1250 and includes a photobook with all of the images.
